Stainless cast steel: chemical composition
Stainless cast steels to EN 10283 and ASTM A743/A747 – martensitic, precipitation-hardening, austenitic and super-austenitic grades. The ASTM grades are designated by the ACI (Alloy Casting Institute) system: C for corrosion service, the second letter for the Cr-Ni balance, the number for maximum carbon in hundredths of a percent. Cast austenitic grades usually contain some delta ferrite, which improves weldability and resistance to hot cracking. Corrosion resistance comes from chromium, rises with molybdenum and nitrogen, and depends on correct solution annealing.
Pump casings and impellers, valve bodies and trim, mixer and agitator parts, and fittings for chemical, fertilizer, food, pulp-and-paper, seawater and refinery service.

Stainless cast steel: cast and machined in-house
Tsitouras Foundry supplies stainless steel sand castings – and centrifugal castings for bushings and sleeves – with the heat treatment each grade requires (solution annealing; quenching and tempering for martensitic grades), spectrometric chemical analysis, mechanical testing and NDT, EN 10204 3.1 certificates, and CNC machining to the finished part in the group's own machine shop.
- Sand casting at our foundry in Mandra, Attica; centrifugal casting for bushings, sleeves and liners
- Heat treatment at the foundry (water, oil or air quench); CNC machining in our machine shop in Perama
- Spectrometer analysis of every heat, mechanical testing and NDT
- EN 10204 3.1 inspection certificates; ISO 9001 (both plants) and ISO 14001 (foundry) certified
