Ductile (nodular) cast iron: chemical composition
Ductile (nodular) cast iron is treated with magnesium so that the graphite forms spheroids instead of flakes, giving steel-like strength and elongation with the castability of iron. The matrix ranges from ferritic (tough, high elongation) to pearlitic (strong, wear resistant); EN 1563 grades are defined by mechanical properties. EN 16124 adds silicon–molybdenum ferritic grades for elevated-temperature service.
Pump and valve bodies, housings, pulleys and sheaves, gear blanks, hydraulic components and automotive parts; SiMo grades for exhaust manifolds and turbocharger housings.

Ductile (nodular) cast iron: cast and machined in-house
We sand cast GJS grades for housings, pulleys, sheaves and gear blanks, verify the chemistry on our spectrometer and machine the castings in the group's own CNC machine shop, with EN 10204 3.1 certificates on request.
- Sand casting at our foundry in Mandra, Attica; centrifugal casting for bushings, sleeves and liners
- Heat treatment at the foundry (water, oil or air quench); CNC machining in our machine shop in Perama
- Spectrometer analysis of every heat, mechanical testing and NDT
- EN 10204 3.1 inspection certificates; ISO 9001 (both plants) and ISO 14001 (foundry) certified
