Austenitic cast iron (Ni-Resist): chemical composition
Ni-Resist irons are cast irons alloyed with enough nickel, plus chromium, copper or silicon, to keep a stable austenitic matrix down to room temperature. EN 13835 covers flake-graphite grades (EN-GJLA) and spheroidal-graphite grades (EN-GJSA). The spheroidal grades have much higher ductility and strength. The austenitic matrix gives better corrosion and heat resistance than unalloyed cast iron, and the grades differ in thermal expansion.
Typical parts are pump casings, impellers and valve bodies for seawater, brine and mildly corrosive process fluids. Higher-alloyed grades are used for exhaust manifolds, turbocharger housings and other components exposed to heat and thermal cycling.

Austenitic cast iron (Ni-Resist): cast and machined in-house
We sand cast Ni-Resist grades and machine them in the group's own CNC machine shop; every melt is checked by spectrometer, with EN 10204 3.1 certificates.
- Sand casting at our foundry in Mandra, Attica; centrifugal casting for bushings, sleeves and liners
- Heat treatment at the foundry (water, oil or air quench); CNC machining in our machine shop in Perama
- Spectrometer analysis of every heat, mechanical testing and NDT
- EN 10204 3.1 inspection certificates; ISO 9001 (both plants) and ISO 14001 (foundry) certified
