High-chromium white cast iron: chemical composition
High-chromium white irons solidify without graphite: the carbon is bound in hard eutectic M7C3 chromium carbides set in a matrix that is mainly austenitic as cast and becomes martensitic after a destabilising heat treatment. Molybdenum, and in some grades nickel or copper, raises hardenability so that thick sections harden through. The Cr-Mo grades around 15–20 % Cr balance abrasion resistance and toughness, while the 25–27 % Cr grades add corrosion resistance; DIN 1695 has been replaced by EN 12513, and ASTM A532 covers these irons as Class II and III.
Typical castings are wear parts for sliding abrasion with low to moderate impact: mill hammers and beaters, grinding-mill liners, VSI crusher rotor tips and anvils, rotary wear parts and slurry pump components. They are used in quarries, cement plants, mining and coal or biomass grinding.

High-chromium white cast iron: cast and machined in-house
We sand cast high-chromium white iron wear parts for quarry and cement service, with GX300CrMo15-3 as our standard mill grade and further grades from 15 % to 27 % Cr, heat treat them in-house and machine them on CNC equipment in the group's own machine shop. Every melt is checked by spectrometer analysis, hardness is verified on our own tester, and EN 10204 3.1 certificates are available.
- Sand casting at our foundry in Mandra, Attica; centrifugal casting for bushings, sleeves and liners
- Heat treatment at the foundry (water, oil or air quench); CNC machining in our machine shop in Perama
- Spectrometer analysis of every heat, mechanical testing and NDT
- EN 10204 3.1 inspection certificates; ISO 9001 (both plants) and ISO 14001 (foundry) certified
