Cast brass & high-tensile brass: chemical composition
Cast brasses are copper–zinc alloys; at higher zinc contents they solidify with a duplex alpha-beta structure that casts and machines well, and lead is added for free machining. High-tensile brasses (often called manganese bronzes) add aluminium, iron and manganese to reach strengths well above ordinary brass, while zinc-rich brasses remain susceptible to dezincification in aggressive waters.
Valve and fitting bodies and general machined parts in leaded brass; heavily loaded slow-speed bearings, nuts, gears and hydraulic components in high-tensile brass.

Cast brass & high-tensile brass: cast and machined in-house
We cast these brass and high-tensile brass grades and machine them in the group's own CNC machine shop, with spectrometer analysis and EN 10204 3.1 certificates.
- Sand casting at our foundry in Mandra, Attica; centrifugal casting for bushings, sleeves and liners
- Heat treatment at the foundry (water, oil or air quench); CNC machining in our machine shop in Perama
- Spectrometer analysis of every heat, mechanical testing and NDT
- EN 10204 3.1 inspection certificates; ISO 9001 (both plants) and ISO 14001 (foundry) certified
