Stainless cast steel

CA40 (UNS J91153) chemical composition

Martensitic stainless cast steel CA40 (AISI 420)

Higher-carbon version of CA15 (cast AISI 420) with a specified carbon minimum, hardened and tempered to higher hardness for wear and erosion resistance. Used for valve seats, wear rings and pump wear parts where weldability is secondary.

We cast CA40

Tsitouras Foundry supplies stainless steel sand castings – and centrifugal castings for bushings and sleeves – with the heat treatment each grade requires (solution annealing; quenching and tempering for martensitic grades), spectrometric chemical analysis, mechanical testing and NDT, EN 10204 3.1 certificates, and CNC machining to the finished part in the group's own machine shop.

  • Sand casting at our foundry in Mandra, Attica; centrifugal casting for bushings, sleeves and liners
  • Heat treatment at the foundry (water, oil or air quench); CNC machining in our machine shop in Perama
  • Spectrometer analysis of every heat, mechanical testing and NDT
  • EN 10204 3.1 inspection certificates; ISO 9001 (both plants) and ISO 14001 (foundry) certified
