Ductile (nodular) cast iron

EN-GJS-500-7 (EN-JS1050) chemical composition

Ductile cast iron EN-GJS-500-7 (GGG-50)

Ferritic-pearlitic ductile iron (formerly GGG-50) with Cu added to control the pearlite fraction, combining strength and elongation for pulleys, gear blanks, housings and machine parts. Typical chemistry; EN 1563 sets no composition.

Basis of values: EN 1563 specifies mechanical properties, not chemistry. The values shown are typical foundry ranges; the chemistry is adjusted so the casting meets the requirements of the ordered grade.

We cast EN-GJS-500-7

We sand cast GJS grades for housings, pulleys, sheaves and gear blanks, verify the chemistry on our spectrometer and machine the castings in the group's own CNC machine shop, with EN 10204 3.1 certificates on request.

  • Sand casting at our foundry in Mandra, Attica; centrifugal casting for bushings, sleeves and liners
  • Heat treatment at the foundry (water, oil or air quench); CNC machining in our machine shop in Perama
  • Spectrometer analysis of every heat, mechanical testing and NDT
  • EN 10204 3.1 inspection certificates; ISO 9001 (both plants) and ISO 14001 (foundry) certified
