Austenitic manganese steel (Hadfield)

GX120MnMo7-1 (1.3415) chemical composition

Austenitic manganese steel GX120MnMo7-1

Reduced-manganese austenitic steel alloyed with molybdenum. Its less stable austenite work-hardens more readily under moderate impact, so it is used where standard Hadfield steel would not harden enough, e.g. mill liners and medium-impact wear parts; supplied solution-annealed and water-quenched.

We cast GX120MnMo7-1

We sand-cast manganese steel wear parts at our foundry in Mandra and solution-anneal and water-quench them in-house. Chemistry is checked on every heat by spectrometer, mechanical tests are carried out, and parts are supplied with EN 10204 3.1 inspection certificates. Machining, where required, is done in the group's own CNC machine shop.

  • Sand casting at our foundry in Mandra, Attica; centrifugal casting for bushings, sleeves and liners
  • Heat treatment at the foundry (water, oil or air quench); CNC machining in our machine shop in Perama
  • Spectrometer analysis of every heat, mechanical testing and NDT
  • EN 10204 3.1 inspection certificates; ISO 9001 (both plants) and ISO 14001 (foundry) certified
