G42CrMo4 (1.7231) chemical composition
The highest-carbon grade of the CrMo4 series, successor to GS-42CrMo4. After quenching and tempering it gives high strength and hardness for crane wheels, gears and wear-loaded components; welding requires preheating.

We cast G42CrMo4
We sand cast carbon and low-alloy steel to EN 10293, EN 10213 and ASTM A216/A352, heat treat it at the foundry (water, oil or air quench) and, if required, machine it in the group's machine shop in Perama. Each heat is checked by spectrometer; orders ship with an EN 10204 3.1 certificate, with mechanical testing and NDT (UT, MT, PT) as specified.
- Sand casting at our foundry in Mandra, Attica; centrifugal casting for bushings, sleeves and liners
- Heat treatment at the foundry (water, oil or air quench); CNC machining in our machine shop in Perama
- Spectrometer analysis of every heat, mechanical testing and NDT
- EN 10204 3.1 inspection certificates; ISO 9001 (both plants) and ISO 14001 (foundry) certified
