WCB (UNS J03002) chemical composition
Weldable carbon steel casting grade for pressure-containing parts in high-temperature service, supplied annealed, normalised or normalised and tempered. Typical parts are valve bodies and bonnets, flanges, fittings and pump casings.

Basis of values: Limits per ASTM A216.
Additional requirements: All limits are maximums; Cu, Ni, Cr, Mo and V are specified residual elements · Cu + Ni + Cr + Mo + V ≤ 1.00 (total of specified residuals; not applicable when Supplementary Requirement S11 is specified) · For each 0.01 C below the 0.30 maximum, Mn may exceed 1.00 by 0.04, up to Mn ≤ 1.28 · Supplementary Requirement S11 (only when ordered): CE = C + Mn/6 + (Cr + Mo + V)/5 + (Ni + Cu)/15 ≤ 0.50
We cast WCB
We sand cast carbon and low-alloy steel to EN 10293, EN 10213 and ASTM A216/A352, heat treat it at the foundry (water, oil or air quench) and, if required, machine it in the group's machine shop in Perama. Each heat is checked by spectrometer; orders ship with an EN 10204 3.1 certificate, with mechanical testing and NDT (UT, MT, PT) as specified.
- Sand casting at our foundry in Mandra, Attica; centrifugal casting for bushings, sleeves and liners
- Heat treatment at the foundry (water, oil or air quench); CNC machining in our machine shop in Perama
- Spectrometer analysis of every heat, mechanical testing and NDT
- EN 10204 3.1 inspection certificates; ISO 9001 (both plants) and ISO 14001 (foundry) certified
